Beginning October 12, audiences around the world can take part in an online auction in honor of Disney’s 100th anniversary – lots include donations from some of the world’s most renowned creators, including Christian Louboutin, NIGO®, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Virgil Abloh Securities/ALASKA ALASKA alongside next generation talent
LONDON, United Kingdom — Global superstar Beyoncé joins the epic line up of creative visionaries supporting Disney’s Create 100, a global celebration of creativity marking 100 years of Disney storytelling. Renowned creators, brands and next generation talent from 18 countries are taking part, including: adidas, Christian Louboutin, Maison Valentino, NIGO®, Pandora, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Tommy Hilfiger, Vik Muniz and Virgil Abloh Securities/ALASKA ALASKA. Additionally, Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios), Jennifer Lee (Walt Disney Animation Studios), Jon Landau (Lightstorm Entertainment) and Pete Docter (Pixar Animation Studios) have also donated special items celebrating their respective studios, movies and stories.
Enriching the legacy of the classic film The Lion King for a new generation, the catsuit worn by Beyoncé in the film Black is King joins this iconic line up.
Fans around the globe will have the chance to bid on unique items and experiences inspired by each creator’s personal connection to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and 20th Century Studios’ stories and characters. The auction will run across 18 countries from October 12 until October 30, 2023 with funds from auction sales going to Make-A-Wish.
London-based Indian-Nigerian designer Priya Ahluwalia has woven her creative magic into a unique custom jacket, drawing inspiration from the enchanting world of Disney and Pixar's Soul. This one-of-a-kind masterpiece not only pays homage to the film's soulful narrative but also captures the essence of cultural fusion in Ahluwalia's signature style. Meanwhile, the iconic shoemaker Christian Louboutin has taken his renowned craftsmanship to new heights, fashioning a pair of exquisite couture heels that serve as a stunning tribute to the Marvel universe. As part of this creative showcase, Sanderson is also auctioning off a 1920s Mickey Mouse framed print based on their iconic wallpaper, adding a touch of vintage Disney charm to the fusion of art, fashion, and culture on display.
To commemorate this initiative, Disney is donating $1 million globally to Make-A-Wish to support the granting of life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
For more than 40 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have granted wishes together for more than 150,000 children with critical illnesses worldwide and Disney is honored to be the world’s top wish granter for Make-A-Wish. The life-changing wishes include shopping sprees, studio visits, theme park and resort vacations, cruises, talent meet-and-greets, sports-themed experiences and more. Many Disney cast members are also wish-granting volunteers, parents of wish kids or wish alumni themselves.
